midasCAD can import and export DWG files. What is surprising, however, is that you can manage project-specific drawings by providing and MDWG extension that integrates and manages multiple DWG files into one.
1. IMPORT

To open an existing drawing of DWG or DXF file, use the IMPORT commands.

[ File ] – [ Import ]
Other way
Choose a DWG file, and then drag & drop in viewport.
- [ File ] – [ Open ] : open a MDWG file
* SMART MODE
- [ Option ] – [ Open and Save ] – [ Import ] – [ Smart Mode ] check,
PURGE, AUDIT commands are automatically executed to remove unnecessary object and files are imported.
2. EXPORT
In the [ File ] – [ Export ] menu, 3 options are available.
-Export current window
-Export all windows
-Export sheets to individual DWG files.
Please note that WQSAVE is a command to save DWG format drawings under a different name.
Current Window – Save the data in the current window to a DWG or DXF file
All Windows - Save the selected window as a DWG file
Sheet - Save the selected sheets to DWG files
Window Metafile - Save the selected window as a Window Meta File(.wmf) or Enhanced Meta File(.emf)
3. SAVE (DWG and MDWG)
3-1. SAVE MDWG
midasCAD uses MDWG extension for integrated file management.
If you save(QSAVE, Ctrl+S), the project file will be saved as MDWG.
MDWG file contains multiple windows, drawing object files, and excel files.
**Multiple Windows : DWG1 + DWG2 + DWG3 + ...
**Drawing object file : SYSTEMDWG
3-2. SAVE DWG
To save in DWG format, you have to do [EXPORT].
- [ File ] - [ Export ] - [ Current window / All windows / Sheet ]
*How to assign DWG export as shortcut CTRL + S
- [ Tool ] - [ Customize ] - [ Keyboard Shortcuts ] - Select the shortcut CTRL + S and modify command(C) as '^C^C^C_EXPORT'
